Brenham

We made an expected/unexpected road trip today to Brenham. We had planned on going and then thought we weren't going to be able to and then we ended up going! I love Brenham. As soon as we get on the outskirts of Houston, I start pretending we are in Indiana. It feels far away from the city. The scenery is beautiful. The cows are right near the interstate and the grass truly seems a little greener. Our first stop was a bluebonnet field with the kids. I planned their little outfits and couldn't wait for happy smiles... I should have known better. My little sweethearts were terrible. Libbie cried almost the whole time and as soon as we stepped out of the truck, Hoots eyes swelled up like mini blow fishes. His allergies are terrible. I think out of 297 photos I had maybe 4 turn out and they all look the same to me. I'm planning a couple road trips next week for clients who want to take their kiddos for pics. Hopefully they will be better behaved subjects! Next we had lunch at a diner on the landing strip of the Brenham airport. It was really neat. After lunch we headed to the Bluebell Creamery for a tour. I had never done this and I must say it was better than I expected. Our tour guide was so good and it was very interesting. Did you know it takes milk from 62,000 cows for one days worth of production??? That was facinating to me! I loved the history and all the information we received... Lambert and the kids like the ice cream. After the tour we took our bikes to an awesome park we discovered on our last trip and spent the afternoon biking and playing. Needless to say we are wiped out. Lambert and the kiddos are in bed and I am up editing photos from earlier this week! Disclaimer... these are the phoniest smiles my girl could muster. she was a train wreck from the time we got out of the truck! Copy of DSC_1575 DSC_1430 This is the only shot that came out of hoot. 2. Bluebonnets are the topic this week it seems!! I gotta say though, although the flowers are very beautiful, I suffer with allergies immensely as well. I traveled up to this area ALL the time years ago when my husband travel w/his teams to tournaments. I can remember ALL the beautiful flowers, but I can SO remember how my allergies would flare up. I think the pictures are really gorgeous and LOVE the "action" on the last photo!

  4. Great shots (out of close to 300, sounds like me). We love Brenham too. Did the Bluebell tour and enjoyed it! Did you go to the "fancy" water park across the street?
